Three towering temples on the central terrace dominate the complex. Those are Brahma Temple in the North, Visnu Temple in the South and the biggest among the three which lies between Brahma and Visnu is Siwa Temple which soars up to 47 meters high. There were 224 temples in the complex.

The temple is believed to have been built by King Balitung Maha Sambu in the middle of the ninth century. Prambanan located: 17 kilometers east of Yogyakarta. You can go there by bus, taxi or transjogja (special bus in yogyakarta). Just 8 minutes by transjogja from Yogyakarta airport.
